Men's Breakfast Club | St Mary and St Boltoph's Church | 09:00 am - 10:15 am | Third Saturday of each month

Fuel your Saturday with fellowship and a fantastic meal! The Men's Breakfast Club is thriving, and we invite you to join us on the third Saturday of each month. We kick things off at 09:00 am with a hearty Full English Breakfast, followed by a captivating 10-15 minute talk or a lively table-top quiz. Our speakers are often fellow attendees, sharing fascinating insights and stories.

We're usually wrapped up and cleared away by 10:00am, leaving you plenty of time for the rest of your day. The only cost is a minimum donation to cover the food, and any additional contributions go directly to Water Aid, our nominated charity. We're proud to have donated over £4,000 to this vital cause in our seven years running! Come and see what makes our mornings so special.

Join Our Church Choir:

Do you love to sing? Elevate your voice with our vibrant Church Choir! We're a lively group of up to 15 active members, with around 10 choristers regularly leading the singing at our weekly Sunday services. We're always thrilled when new voices join us, especially for joyous occasions like Festivals and Weddings.

Beyond Sundays, our Choir performs at various weddings throughout the year. Choir practice generally takes place on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 PM. If you have a passion for singing or are simply curious, please come along – we'd be delighted to welcome you! We enjoy singing a diverse range of church music, from cherished traditional hymns to uplifting contemporary worship songs.

Join Our Mothers' Union:

Connect with a supportive community at our Mothers' Union! We gather on the first Thursday of each month at 2:30 PM, usually in the Church, which perfectly accommodates our numbers.

Throughout the year, we hold four services in the church, including three Holy Communions, often led by Mary, and a heartwarming Carol Service in December followed by a festive Christmas lunch. We also host engaging guest speakers covering a wide array of topics, from personal experiences like being the wife of the Dean of York Minster to discussions on World Thinking Day.

Some of our meetings delve into subjects we believe will interest a wider audience, and these are open to non-members. In recent years, we've held raffles at our meetings to raise money for the impactful work of the MU, contributing to initiatives like the MU Parenting Course and The Women's Refuge. With around thirty members, we warmly welcome new faces. Why not come along and discover more about what we do?

Join Our Social Panel:

Love planning events and bringing people together? Then join our Social Panel! As our name suggests, our primary role is to organize and plan all those wonderful additional events within our church community that don't necessarily have a strong religious focus.

We orchestrate a diverse range of social events throughout the year, celebrating special occasions and fostering community spirit, such as:

  • A High Tea to celebrate the Ordination of a member of our ministry team.
  • Exciting coach trips to destinations like Cromer in Norfolk or Hatfield House.
  • Whitton's Got Talent – an annual celebration of the musical talents within our church family, complete with a "Cheese and Wine" Buffet.
  • A delightful Cream Tea in the Churchyard at Akenham Church.
  • Our annual Parish Dinner.
  • A traditional Harvest Supper.
  • Inspiring Church Concerts.
  • Lively Spring and Christmas Fayres.
  • Annual fundraising events like raffles and quiz nights.

Come lend your creativity and help us make our community events even more memorable!
