Church Choir

The Choir has a membership of up to 15 active members of which we typically have an average attendance for choral services of around 10 choristers.

We welcome other members of the congregation who continue to help out with additional voices when required, especially for Festivals and Weddings,

The work of the Choir is to lead the singing at both 9.30am Eucharist and 6.30pm Choral Evensong each week. We always try to include an anthem as part of the worship at Sung Evensong and also during distribution of communion at the morning Sung Eucharist.

In addition to the two Sunday services each week, the Choir also sung at a number of weddings during the year.

Choir practice generally takes place on a Wednesday evening at 7.30pm and we would welcome anyone who is interested in joining the Choir, or who just want to have a sing, please to come along.

Some of the special services the choir sung at during the past years include:

  • Songs of Praise for Marriage
  • Music for a Summers Evening
  • Songs of Praise for Harvest
  • 9 Lessons and Carols Service & Midnight Eucharist

We aim to sing from a wide-ranging mix of Church music, utilising standard traditional hymns through to more contemporary worship songs.

Our music has been complemented greatly by the introduction of a new electronic piano, allowing a wider range of music throughout our worship and also a great asset for choir practice.
